GET OUT OF THE WAY
CARDINALS 10, BRONCOS 45
The Denver Broncos, 2-4 and sporting a four game losing streak going into last night's game in Glendale, got it served up to them last night, and it was no contest. ANY dreams they may have had of being the worst team in the league were dashed by the Arizona Cardinals, a team on a mission. The Crudinals played a complete game- QB Josh Rosen, looking like he needs another couple years at UCLA, led the way with 5 turnovers (3 INT and 2 fumbles), TWO pick-sixes, one on the second play of the game, 6 sacks and Von Miller nightmares for the next week or year. One of those INTs was a 3rd quarter soft-toss into the end zone from 30 yards out, a thing of beauty that was the most nonchalant end zone interception Denver DB Bradley Roby will ever get in his life.
The Cardinals did get off more plays than their opponent, which was new, but still avoided the Red Zone (you know, they can't make that sign any bigger, guys, you'll just have to find it somehow), and gave their defense plenty of reps out on the gridiron to get some things done, like getting totally gassed and close in on the Broncos for worst run defense in the league. Looked like a no-brainer last night as the Cards gave up 131 to only 69 by the Broncos. Couple more weeks and they'll have it.
Can they lose the rest and go 1-15? The 49ers are back next week (the Cardinals only win) and in three weeks it's the Raiders, so the Bay Area onslaught is their only threat. Sez here they get past the Whiners (that is, lose) but the Raiders is a toss-up. The Raiders have zeeero pass rush, and that's a rookie QB's delight.
If he's still able to walk by then.
aaaaAAAND THAT'S THE VIEW FROM THE BASEMENT!
IF they want Rosen to develop into more than a broken quarterback, they need to get him on the bench and bring it a old horse and then get some pass protection in the next few drafts.
ReplyDeletethey fell apart last year, is the thing. Two years ago, with Palmer still able to bring it, they had a line. AND a defense. Very careful dismantling going on.
ReplyDeleteSome of the most strategic dismantling I have ever seen.
DeletePoor Josh Rosen, we’ve seen this movie before in Detroit starring Joey Harrington.
ReplyDeleteGet out there, kid! It's good 'experience'!
