Vikings Stomped in Cat Box by Raging Giants

Brett Farve sat on the sidelines for the first time since 1992 and the Minnesota Yikings, who traveled all the way to Detroit to avoid losing again at home, were stomped in the Kittens Cat Box 21-3 by a Giants team desperate to save its season. The Yikings managed only 162 total yards and the Giants pretty much smashed their faces in the ground and made them eat cat litter all night.

The collapse of the  Metrodome some say is a sign from Odin that the Vikings will never win a Superbowl until they start playing outdoors again. As the following photo clearly shows, it's better when the Vikings crush people on a frozen tundra called a football field. Wouldn't it be great to see teams like Dallas or Miami having to play in Minnesota in the playoffs in January?

  2. I love that old photo. The ground is so frozen, I bet it was as hard as asphalt. Imagine being hit hard and driven into the ground by Alan Page when it's 1 degree above zero. And he is bare-sleeved and bleeding on your helmet. The motto of the Purple People Eaters was, "Meet at the quarterback." Sounds like a little networking meet and greet? Quarterback sandwich! LOL.

  3. Yikings would do well to become a cold weather team again. Purple people eaters ruled the earth back in the day. Alan Page, Jm Marshall, Carl Eller, who am I forgettin? also it was Marshall's record that favre passed . good story on Marshall here:

  4. Was Marshall the one who ran the wrong way for a safety?

  5. Sure enough. I had a cool book of Strange Sports Stories that had that in it when I was a kid. it also had one about a coach TRIPPING a guy running for a touchdown.

Total agreement on Vikes playing outdoors. Of course, I don't live in Minneapolis. It's the coldest NFL city.

  6. Hey, Elvis, welcome to the basement! Don't forget to wipe your feet on the doormats.

You are missing Gary Larsen. Page was MVP in 1971. I don't think tackles are often MVPs. Whoa, could he hit. Probably would still rock offensive lines today.

    1. Defensive tackle Alan Page, 9 Pro Bowl Selections (1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976), NFL MVP (1971), Hall of Fame[1]

    2. Defensive end Carl Eller, 6 Pro Bowl Selections (1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974), Hall of Fame[2]

    3. Defensive end Jim Marshall, 2 Pro Bowl Selections (1968, 1969)[3]

    4. Defensive tackle Gary Larsen, 2 Pro Bowl Selections (1969, 1970)[4]

  7. And where is Alan Page today? Page has served as a justice on the Minnesota Supreme Court since 1992.

I wonder how many sacks he's had as a judge?

  8. There's a judge that commands respect.
