Arizona Cardinals at the St. Louis Rams
The University of Phoenix Crudinals are an improbable 4-0, and nobody is taking them seriously. C'mon, admit it. You think the 49ers are leading the NFC West, right? The Cruds offense is worse than last year (29th vs. 19th), but are scoring more points. They have barely won 3 of their 4 games, with last week's OT victory over the Floppers taking it to the limit.
The St. Louis Lambs, our projected team to actually be trying to stop being a Doormat, are an improbable 2-2, and are averaging a full TD more in points (19) than last year's Moldy Carpet winning performance (12). They lost in the final 5 seconds to the Lions, won in Washington where QB Sam Bradford cleared the 300 yard passing mark (!!!), got clobbered by Chicago, and won last week's Stiff of the Week over the Seahawks in a blazing display of field goal kicking.
Both of these teams are actually attempting to not be bad anymore. Tonight decides which one gets bragging rights in the NFC West in the Doormat No More department, and which one stops being improbable.
Some numbers:
sacked: Bradford 14 (2nd in league) Kevin Kolb 13 (3rd)
TD/INT Bradford - 4/4 Kolb 7/2
Offense rushing: Cards 65yd a game Lambs 90.5
Give/Take Cards +4 Lambs +2
The Lambs run defense is 26th, giving up 135 yards a game.
The Cruds have allowed ONE rushing TD.
The Lambs have snagged 8 interceptions while the Cruds lead the league in sacks with 16.
It could be a really long night for Bradford. Or really short.
Can Kolb get back to throwing the killer interception?
EDGE TO LOSE: This is really close. Lambs have not beat the Cruds at home since 2004. LAMBS.
Lambs will find a way to blow this one and win it.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way The Lambs can blow this. Cards 27 Lambs 9!
ReplyDeleteDamn I thought I wrote that if the Lambs can keep Bradford from getting sacked, they'll win the game. I just thought it. Lambs are winning this game, Bradford has been sacked once, and they've turfed Kold EIGHT times.
ReplyDeletebwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!
