THE WORST STATS for WEEK 9!!
Most Galling Loss: CHARGERS. There were a raft of them, but the Chargers having first and goal at the one-inch line with 21 seconds left and getting off 3 plays and not scoring and then chickening out and kicking a tying field goal takes the prize. Chargers lose in OT. Cincinnati losing on a safety a close second.
Most Embarrassing Team: Miami Dolphins. The kind of culture that keeps you out of the playoffs for 11 straight years.
WORST OFFENSE NFL WEEK 9: Falcons, with Kansas City a close second.
Fewest Points: 10 Falcons. This is what happens when Jacksonville doesn't play.
Fewest First downs: 12 Falcons
Yards gained: 210 Chiefs (wow is that offense a stiff, and getting stiffer every week)
passing yards: 113 Packers (yes, Aaron Rodgers is hurt)
rushing yards: 36 Cowboys
Lowest QB Rating: 52.2 Jeff Tuel, Buffalo. The goal line 99-yard pick-six was special. Especially with the receiver ultra-crazy wide open in the end zone. Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor close 2nd and 3rd.
Interceptions: Bengals (Dalton) 3
Turnovers: Bengals 4 (Dalton all 4)
Sacked: 5-36 Bengals
Punts: 7 Browns, Ravens, Raiders
Most defensive TDs given up: 2, Bills
Worst Red Zone: 0-3 Bills
WORST DEFENSE NFL WEEK 9:
RAIDERS- The Steelers gave up more points and total yards, but the Raiders did it at home, gave up 7 TD passes (tying NFL record) and left more receivers open than the Eagles even had on the field. They did nothing. Steelers did commit more dumb penalties, though.
Points allowed: 55 Steelers (edging out the Raiders' 49). Also most points given up all-time by Steelers
Yards Allowed: 610 Steelers (Raiders 542 , but oddly they gained 560)
Passing Yards allowed : 419 Raiders (413 Steelers)
Rushing Yards allowed: 241 Kansas City
MISCELLANEOUS:
Penalties: 9- 59 Saints, Steelers 8-96 (Value)

ReplyDeleteI love the "value" comment. There should be a stat for "most bang for the buck" penalties. Best "yards per penalty average." Or best "penalty value." All Doormat efforts should be recognized. jg
Any time you are getting more than 10 yards per penalty, you are really styin' If you ask the right search question, almost every stat comes up. I'm getting better at it. ESPN is such a huge site you have to do searches or you'd be sifting all day long. Other sites are a little more clear what they offer.
