WEEK 5 WORST NFL STATS
It was Interception Weekend for sure.
Interceptions: 3 for Houston, NY Giants, San Diego, Arizona and Carolina. Only AZ won.
Turnovers: 4 Texans, Giants, Panthers
Points: 3 Texans
First Downs: 10 Miami
Yards: 248 New England (teetering on being losing material, this team).
Rush: 22 Miami (they almost won)
Pass: 160 University of Phoenix
Punt: 8, Buffalo (challenging the Jags), Dolphins
Penalties: 12/ 136 Giants. That's some serious going backwards.
Sacks: 7- 50 Panthers. Cam Newton, the man who just can't let go, except to throw an interception.
SEASON WORST NFL STATS WEEK 5
INTs (season): 12 Eli Manning, Giants. Matt Schaub and Carson Palmer each have 9 (Ryan Fitzpatrick, now a backup, still throws an interception more often than anybody else).
Lowest Passer Rating (season): 36.0 Blaine Gabbert, Jacksonville (the pros)
3rd down Conv (season): 26% Giants
4th Down Conv (season) 25% Giants (on 4 or more attempts)
SACKED: 24 Ryan Tannehill, Miami
Points per game: 10.2 Jacksonville; 11 Tampa
Pass Yards per game: 174.3 Buccaneers
Rush YPG: 56.2 Buccaneers, 58 Steelers and Jags
Most Punts: 37 Jags
Points allowed: 36.4 Giants
Yards allowed : 440.5 Redskins; 434 Eagles (that NFC East is one free-wheeling division!)
Pass Yards allowed: 347 Broncos (surprised?)
Rush Yards allowed: 160 Jags
Give/Takeaway: NFC: -13 Giants AFC: -11 Steelers
-wacko
I love the Cam Newton comment. Cam expresses a certain type of denial bravado - despite all the sacks, interceptions, and losses, he still suggests that he is Superman when he does do something successful. There should be a poster of the Superman pose with the stats at the bottom in large print. JG
